Student success 2016

Ella Silcock successfully auditioned for a place with Midland Theatre Ballet. Ella has already commenced weekly training in Birmingham which will take place over the next year culminating in a theatre performance of the Twelve Dancing Princesses. Congratulations Ella!

Senior student Rebecca Littlehales has successfully auditioned to start a three year full time training course with the school of Ballet Theatre UK from September – a huge achievement, well done!

Well done to students Nia Prestage, Ella Morelle and Katrina Squires who successfully auditioned to be in the chorus of Cinderella. Ella was unable to take up the place however, Katrina and Nia did the full run and performed for four weeks alongside a very professional cast.

In April a number of students auditioned for the English Youth Ballet. All SDS students danced beautifully and with great confidence on the Royal Concert Hall stage - Juniors: Ellie Shaw, Freya Ball, Lottie Leadbeater, Lola Nikolic Morley, Elysia Dalton, Emma Onslow, Millie Doherty, Cara Penneck, Eve Graham and Teah Nikolic Morley. Seniors: Ei Lwin, Nia Prestage and Georgia Keenan-Hill.

Emma, Lottie and Ei were selected and will perform in the Nottingham production of Giselle in July. Great achievement for all of you.

Three students successfully auditioned for places for the academic year 2015/16 with Midlands Independent Dance Associate Scheme – Ella Silcock, Jemimah King, and Nia Prestage.

All three have been attending monthly classes in Birmingham focusing on strength, flexiblity, stamina and artistry. Wishing good luck to all those students who have auditioned this year for a place in the 2016/17 academic year.
